So it is about 6:00am here in France, and I have been glued to my computer, streaming the news from CNN.com and refreshing news websites, since about 1am, when the Election results first began to roll in.
I am completely in awe of the amazing moment that has taken place before me. Barack Obama is the President Elect of the United States, and I am truly sad that I can't be in the US for it. I have lived through three previous presidents, however I obviously couldn't vote for any of them until now, and for the first 4 presidential terms of my life I was surely not too politically conscious.
I have never felt so inspired by politics as I listened to his acceptance speech. Man, it would have been amazing to be there in Chicago, huh?
I am so excited, however, to see the response here in France, as most of the Europeans I've talked to are very fond of Obama. Maybe now I won't get kinda dirty looks when I say that I'm American...
Sorry I haven't updated about my trip yet...I'll do it soon I promise! I've got lots of grrrreat pics!
